How to take and know your correct measurements after birth?

To know your body measurements, you will need to measure your chest, waist and hips.

Use a tape measure and make sure you take all measurements standing upright

Place the tape measure around the part of your body to be measured, holding it firmly and without deforming it. The exact measurement that should be taken is where the tape meets.

1. The chest

Stand up straight and place the tape measure horizontally and flat on your chest at the tip of the breasts. Wrap it around under the armpits and over the shoulder blades.

2. The waist

Take your tape measure and place it around your waist. If you have trouble finding your natural waistline, stand up straight, lean to the side: the part where your body bends is your natural waistline, i.e. the thinnest part of your torso, where it is the most hollow. In principle, the tape measure should pass between your rib cage and your belly button. Make sure that the tape measure lies flat around your waist, without it being too tight. For an accurate measurement, do not tuck your stomach in.

3. The hips

Place the tape measure around the largest area of your pelvis. It is said that the hip circumference is usually about 20 centimetres from the waist circumference, around the pelvic area. For some women, it will be lower, around the buttocks area.

Now that you know how to take your measurements, you can check your size through our size charts in the Details & Composition section of each item of clothing. Don't hesitate to take a look at our section at the bottom of the page, which explains how to enhance your silhouette according to your morphology.

What are the different types of morphology?

Having a good or bad morphology is like having a perfect body, it doesn't exist. However, if you want to have a balanced figure and clothes you feel good in, it is sometimes necessary to take the time to know your own morphology.

A woman's morphology can be divided into six categories according to certain characteristics that we have listed for you below.

The A-shaped morphology, the most classic and most commonmorphology in women. It is characterised by thin shoulders and wider hips.

Our 'Nobody puts baby in a corner nursing dresswill particularly enhance your silhouette. Its fitted top and its floating bottom at  hip level will redefine your shoulders whilst avoiding drawing attention to your lower body.

Our chic 'Rive gauche/Rive droite' nursing top will also emphasize your shoulders with its shoulder pads. For a looser effect and to add volume to your silhouette, don't hesitate to take a size larger than the one you are used to wearing.

The V-shaped morphology, the silhouette of a real sportswoman, with wider shoulders than hips.

With a more developed upper body, the aim will be to favour flared models such as our  'Milk Away since 2021nursing t-shirt. This will naturally emphasize your waist and hips and feminize your figure.

You can also try our 'La vie en rose' nursing dress with its straight cut and length that will soften your stature. Andwhy not wear it with a scarf tied at the waist or a belt to mark yourhips? It's all about style!

H-shaped morphology, has a rather straight silhouette with shoulders and hips of similar size and a slightly marked waist.

For a well-balanced silhouette, we suggest opting for an ultra-feminine garment such as our'Refill 24/7' linen nursing t-shirt that will show off your cleavage with the V-neck, and create a waist with high-waist jeans.

You can also go for a more fluid model that will give volume to your silhouette, such as our 'Who run the world ? Mums' hoodie.

The hourglass morphology, a classic feminine silhouette where the hips and shoulders are the same size but the waist is more defined. The shapes are well balanced and voluptuous.

Your waist naturally attracts attention and will be your main beauty asset! To enhance it, you can ...

Choose tops with shoulder and bust details like our 'La crème de la crème' nursing sweatshirt.

You can also choose our white  'Who run the world? Mumsnursing t-shirt, worn with classic straight trousers or a pair of peg trousers.

The X-shaped morphology, similar to the 8-shaped morphology with less curves that are firmer. This is generally the typical morphology for thinner or sporty women.

As is the case with the hourglass figure, you have a slimmer silhouette. You can, therefore, apply the same advice by trying to emphasize your waist and keeping a nice balance between your shoulders and your hips.

Or, choose models that will naturally highlight your beautiful legs and your breasts such as our  'Nobody puts baby inacorner' nursing dress or our V-neck linen nursing t-shirt'Refill 24/7'.

The O-shaped morphology, where the hips and shoulders are less noticeable than the chest, which is often more generous.

The aim is clear: shape and lengthen your figure. The idea is to choose clothes that are fluid but not too loose. Choose straight cuts rather than flared ones, always with the aim of maintaining a light silhouette. We think that our  'La crème de la crème nursing sweater and the round neckline of our 'InMUM we trust' nursing tank tops would suit you perfectly!

With your voluptuous, feminine shape, you're sure to catch everyone's eye!
