Milk Away and the designer Elvis Pompilio join their talents for a 100% Belgian and ethical collaboration.

Aurélie Nickmans, creator of the very first Belgian premium brand of nursing clothes MILK AWAY, and Elvis Pompilio, talented Belgian milliner and hatmaker of international renown, s've teamed up for the coolest collaboration in the Kingdom: evolutionary caps, as cute as they are stylish, for newborns and babies.

An eco-responsible production without any waste

At lhe origin of this collaboration is a shared desire to create unique, exclusive pieces from quality fabrics, always with an eco-responsible, zero-waste and social approach that is important to both designers. 

That's why MILK AWAY X ELVIS POMPILIO designs are all made on demand at using fabrics from breastfeeding garment prototypes. " Before arriving at the perfect model ready for the market, I had a lot of prototypes made. After the launch of MILK AWAY a year ago, I asked myself what I was going to do with all these meters of high-quality fabrics (certified cotton GOTS and OEKO-TEX). I couldn't imagine throwing them away. And that's when I came up with lthe idea of calling on Elvis' talent ," explains Aurélie Nickmans.

And it's true that l'hat artist' was an instant convert to the project. While many are familiar with his incredible creations, which have made him a hit with celebrities and royalty alike, few know that he adores children and began his career designing caps. The combo was perfect! 

3 unique handmade models by Elvis Pompilio

Eco-responsible production means limited stocks. The caps will be made on demand by the headwear master according to the remaining stocks of prototypes MILK AWAY . Each cap will be a unique piece. 

The 3 models are designed to evolve over time to suit both newborns and babies (up to around 18 months), thanks to an innovative knot fastening at l'back of head.

- The first model (khaki) has small ears and a classic cap visor.

- The second model (khaki and grey) has a classic cap visor.

- The third model (grey) has a round visor that goes on both sides of the ears.

Each MILK AWAY X ELVIS POMPILIO cap will be sold for €250. LAll profits will be donated to a Belgian association that supports foster families. " My sister-in-law is a foster family. It's an approach that's still little known, and one that touches me personally. I think it's a very beautiful and courageous thing to do, and I'd like to support an association that makes it possible," says Aurélie Nickmans.
